Glacier Walk

Jostedalsbreen glacier - the largest ice cap on the European continent.
Nigardsbreen glacier in Jostedalen is one of its most spectacular outlet glaciers.

Jostedalen Breførarlag - glacier guide company - offer a wide range of guided walks on ice and rock together with varied types of mountaineering courses; glacier and rock climbing courses. Nigardsbreen is their main attraction, and one the most popular trip is the Blue Ice Walk.

This walk is not tiring but takes you through more difficult blue ice formations. During the hike, you will experience the most spectacular sceneries at the lower part of the Nigard Glacier.

Req. min. age: 12 years.
Clothing: Long trousers, rain gear, warm clothing and provisions
Meeting point: At the car park by the Glacier Lake . Remember to buy your tickets at the Breheimsenteret at least one hour before the times above.

From Eplet Solvorn there is a direct shuttle bus every day at 9:05 return in Solvorn 18:15. Leave the car. The 1 hour bus ride up the Jostedalen valley is spectacular itself.
