Hikes in Solvorn Valley Solvorn and its surroundings are so beautiful today not just beacuse of the breathtaking nature, but also becuase it for hundreds of years has been a settlement where people have been living in close contact with nature. Not long ago there were sheep everywhere, and small cows were milked at mountain pastures scattered around in the forest and mountains. The trails from that time offers a pathway through the dense forests and are also a culture historical guide into a former way of life. Our local village organization - Solvorn Bygdelag - have cleared and marked many old footpaths in the forests and mountains. The infoboards are in norwegian only, but at Eplet we are happy to tell you the stories in english. at Eplet you will get a little folder with some cultural history and some small maps that you can use for your own exploration through the forests. Two german and one french troll somewhere deep in the Solvorn forest:
If you continue upwards you will pass the tree-line at the highest lying mountain pasture and from there on there are rocks only. This top is called Solvornipa and there is a marked path all the way up. The mounatin behind in the left is Molden.
