Dubrovnik was for hundred of years a strong power in the south adratic sea.
There are now direct flights from all our europe, but surprisingly few
people arrive here by bicycle.

Albania was seperated from the rest of the world for tens of years. Today
the borders has opened up, and infrastructure is rebuilt by forreign money.
But if you leave the main road you are quickly off track and the only road
option may be; the railtrack. |

In the mountains on the other side of the adratic sea - in Italy - there are
plenty of roads of all sorts. A paradise for bicyclists. What looked like a
nice shortcut on the map, turned out to be this steep gravel road climbing
up an endless hill. |

To find good places to camp rough every night you need experience, and this
is a skill you never master fully. Some nights you end up in the wet
bushes some meters from a highway, and other days you find a wonderful sunny
clearing high up in the mountains. |

A bicycle is a fantastic travelling tool. You see the whole geography and
get time to consume it. But most of all; Cycling into a small remote village
is the best possible way to get in contact with people. Like this rural
Albanian family with friends inviting us for dinner and a bed for the night.
