Solvorn is an amazing idyllic tiny little village near the head of Sognefjord, Western Norway. It used to be an important trading place, connecting farms in the region with the big town on the coast, Bergen. Today our village has some 250 inhabitants. There is a school with kindergarden, but the local meetingpoint is the grocery that we try to keep open all year.
We have an active local organization - Solvorn Bygdelag - that wants the village to look as nice and be as welcoming as possible. They have cleared and marked several footpaths in the forests and mountains in the Solvorn valley. The infoboards are only in norwegian, but at Eplet we are happy to tell you the stories in english.
During summer the sea water temperature reaches up to 20-22 degrees celsisus, and in nice weather the village turns into what we locally calls Costa del Solvorn.
